To me no one lesson was more powerful then the Holy Instant. It teaches that choosing to see love is a decision that can be made in one instant. It taught me that a miracle is to perceive as though the highest living God were living within both myself and all others in my life. In order to choose love, it is best to understand how to do that. There were at least four types of love that were both identified in scriptures and in Greek culture. Eros is the word that describes sensual love.

The Holy Instant Is This Instant And Every Instant
A moment in which we temporarily set aside the past and enter into the timeless present, in which we momentarily transcend identification with illusions and recognize what is real. We enter the holy instant not by making ourselves holy, but by forgetting our normal frame of reference, with its absorption in the past, the future, the body and our own sinfulness. This allows our minds to be still and shift into another state of mind.
The Holy Instant
Sounds simple enough. And, it is. However, simple is not the same thing as easy. It would be nice if we could simply choose peace one time, and have it be our experience for all time. However, this is not the way life works. The truth is we must continuously choose peace in every moment in order to experience it. In order to experience peace, we must choose peace. And, we must choose peace consistently and continuously for it to become our prevailing reality.
And this means only that you would rather delay the recognition that His Will is so. The holy instant is this instant and every instant. The one you want it to be it is. The one you would not have it be is lost to you. You must decide when it is. Delay it not. For beyond the past and future, where you will not find it, it stands in shimmering readiness for your acceptance. Yet you cannot bring it into glad awareness while you do not want it, for it holds the whole release from littleness. The instant in which magnitude dawns upon you is but as far away as your desire for it. As long as you desire it not and cherish littleness instead, by so much is it far from you.
