Take wrestler Jeff Jarrett for example. In my eyes, he was always a "Ric Flair wannabe. Not only was it through evident similarities in styles. Jeff Jarrett made it blatantly obvious that he was sort of ripping Ric Flair off. He even did the same exact strut as him. Although I couldn't find a quality gif for Flair, here's one that shows he was the originator of this strut. Jarrett basically took something that worked and refined it for a more specific subset of an audience. It became much easier for him to become "the poor man's Ric Flair" than start from scratch. If a business is successfully somewhere, there could be an opportunity to duplicate it for somewhere else with similar success. No, I'm not endorsing copycatting.
Ric Flair liked to set the tone, and this GIF certainly serves as the proper tone-setter. This is signature Flair reaching the peak of self-admiration. No, there was not. Just look at that mane. Remember when Ric Flair spent some time in a mental hospital on Monday Nitro? Again, the shades. Ric Flair could dance and strut like no other. Anyone who says otherwise should seek professional help immediately. Believe it or not, there was a time when Flair was actually in great shape.
By David Barron , Houston Chronicle. Astros outfielder Josh Reddick strutted onto the field Wednesday night, wearing a blue robe and a replica of professional wrestling's "Big Gold" championship belt around his waist, and promptly gave a big hug to the man who became famous by wearing both, former wrestling champion Ric Flair. Flair, who delivered the first pitch to Reddick prior to the game, was on hand to greet Reddick and meet with fans on the outfielder's bobblehead night. The two have been linked through Reddick's well-known affection for professional wrestling and the adaptation of Flair's "Wooooo! Reddick has been a fan of Flair, 70, since the veteran's heyday in World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment, and Flair now returns the favor. Using a line that he once applied to himself, Flair said, "Josh is married now, but before he got married, Josh Reddick would have been a kiss-stealing, wheeling-dealing, limousine-riding, jet-flying, home run-hitting Houston Astro that kissed the girls in Houston and made them cry. Unlike many of the celebrities who deliver pregame pitches, Flair and his wife, Wendy Barlow, arrived a couple of hours before the game and mingled with fans on the field while the Astros took batting practice.
